In case you've been late for things the past couple days...

Daylight Saving Time (or summertime as it is called in many countries) is a way of getting more light out of the day by advancing clocks by one hour during the summer. During Daylight Saving Time, the sun appears to rise one hour later in the morning, when people are usually asleep anyway, and sets one hour later in the evening, seeming to stretch the day longer.
The reason DST works is because its saves energy due to less artificial light needed during the evening hours—clocks are set one hour ahead during the spring, and one hour back to standard time in the autumn. Many countries observe DST, and many do not.

Note: Between March–April through September–November, it is summer in the northern hemisphere, where many countries may observe DST, while in the southern hemisphere it is winter. During the rest of the year the opposite is true: it is winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern.

Benjamin Franklin first suggested Daylight Saving Time in 1784, but it was not until World War I, in 1916, when it was adopted by several counties in Europe that initially rejected the idea.

Awesome Dan (aka. Twin) vs. Captain Morgan

On Thursday the 25th of February HoB was witness to an epic battle of life and death. The stage was set on http://www.livestream.com/silencertv, twin's newly established CamWhore channel.

The combatants:

A epic Battle, lasting more then 4 hours, ensued and only one has stood victorious...

As the clock struck midnight and Thursday was spent, so was one more handle of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum as Awesome Dan stood triumphant over the empty shell of his enemy. Morgan had been defeated, but at what cost? Scared from battle, Awesome Dan dragged himself to the kitchen floor bleeding what we could only assume to be pure liquor and bile before eventually being found by his wife who promptly notified poison control. He was rushed immediately to the hospital in what he describes as an "amber-lamps" and was admitted with a Blood Alcohol Content of 1.231. After a successful stomach pumping and plenty of painkillers, he was returned home later that night such that he might live to drink another day.

You're a Hero to us all, Dan. Get well soon.

Empire Total War Steam Sale This Week

A few of us have jumped on the Empire: Total War bandwagon recently since the game is being offered on steam for a mere $10.19 all this week. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of one of the most celebrated games of 2009 (it's been out for less than a year) right here before the sale runs out on the 15th at 10am Pacific time and you're stuck paying $30 for it again. This is a great deal for a great game, and I think you'd be surprised at just about everything it has to offer.
